    Mid-Week Golf Deal in March

Done Forest of Arden and very nice it was too! Never heard of Farthingstone. Will take a look. But taking on board Dodger's point, coastal might be better for the course conditions. Weather is a different thing..... :)

    Mid-Week Golf Deal in March

Cheers for the suggestions. Never been that struck on the Belfry and not heard much about Formby Hall. I know of Formby but not Formby Hall. Anyone been? Any other suggestions out there?

    Mid-Week Golf Deal in March

Having barely swung a club since starting my new job in November, the chance to have a day or two off at the end of March has suddenly materialised and clearance to play golf. My mate and I are after heading somewhere decent for a couple of nights for a bit of golf. I've been way out of...

    Membership confusion and options.

I'm with others on this. Join a members golf club. It's all very well saying that they are going to put in £x or £y but what if they don't, what if they decide to reduce those amounts significantly? The other part to that is they will be looking for a return on that kind of investment which...

The halfway hut - to stop or not to stop, that is the question? (W Shakespeare)

Nothing good comes from stopping. Many of my best rounds have been ruined by stopping. Keep moving on.

TaylorMade Rocketballz (RBZ) and R11s - more forumer videos

Nice videos. Some decent looking swings there too. :)

The Belfry is up for sale

FoA is a much nicer hotel that the Belfry and the Arden a nice track. But that's the problem, the Belfry and FoA are "nice" tracks but no more. Certainly not worth special trips (unless you get a really good deal). The PGA at Gleneagles is a decent track but just not a patch on the Kings or...

The Belfry is up for sale

The Belfry has traded on the back of hosting Ryder Cup for many years and the problem it has it that, as the memories of those Ryder Cups diminish with time, so the allure of the course fades and it stands and falls on the quality of the course and facilities. Both of which are not as good as...

    Pdc World Darts Championships

I've been to pretty much every type of major sporting event and the PDC was one of the most fun I've ever been to.

Need AGM info from you guys.....do it then.

At a members club, the annual subs should be voted on at the AGM, having looked at the club's accounts and then implemented. To do it the other way round would deprive the membership the chance to vote on the subs or to do so almost a year previously without knowledge of the financial position...

    Footjoy XPS-1

I think people are generally sceptical of the claims of golf gear manufacturers and becoming ever more so. Manufacturers have become very adept at marketing their products by making claims that infer improved scoring and it is understandable that the consumer is ever warier of such claims...

    Etiquette confessional

I can't say that there's anything on that list that I haven't done at some time or other. All much less frequently as I've got older. I'm still prone to the "give 'em a frightener" from time to time but I've discovered that actually pointing out to the group in front that they've lost a hole...
