Just been out with a member of handicaps, told on good authority he reckons I'll be off 20! Will be confirmed tonight.
I may as well not bother packing my driver...
I liked Andy Sullivan before this, and now I think he's a proper genuine top notch bloke. Feel like I could play with him and be relaxed.
Others are right as well, Crossfield is having a bit of a comeback with these tour pro vlogs!
Yeah I've had a word with him as well, the groups that would usually do it were the ones I was in amongst this morning but I think with it being a comp they just had their minds on that a bit more. I'm out again tomorrow with the best of the weather in the morning so should get someone then...
Being completely honest, as a new member who is under 25, a golf club can be an intimidating place. When you're playing in amongst a busy morning of members on the midweek comp who have been at the club longer than I've been alive, it can be a bit of a daunting prospect to walk up to a group of...
It's Walmersley mate. Yeah it's an interesting hole! Narrow fairway which bottlenecks and ends about 20 yards before the green with trees either side. Lateral water hazard all the way up the right and a relatively flat green. Tempts you into taking on the green but that's never worked out well...
Broke 100 today! Shot a respectable 97 after almost two years of playing this game! Swing felt natural, was in a good rhythm, and interestingly...didn't hit driver ONCE. Didn't go bigger than a 20* hybrid off the tee, and that's all I needed.
Chip in on 7, two lovely smooth one putts, and only...
I seem to be re-acquainting myself with a habit of having a Bubba style curvature but with absolutely no control over where the ball starts and finishes.
Oh dear...
Never mind I'll put a 7 iron off the tee further than the Farts anyway.
There's one at the range I go to. Uses his swing aid hes bought to teach you the "correct wrist set". Turns out he's not set foot on a golf course as he wants to "hit it properly" before he ventures out on a course. I used to think like that until my pro sorted that notion quick smart.
I've...
Nice driver for a beginner with a tendency to shape it left to right. Just remember - your technique and strike location on the face will affect your ball flight more than any shiny stick in your hands will!
I've got the good old G10 and when I actually swing half decent it serves me well!
Where are you aiming? I don't know this but from what I can see, you may be aiming right without knowing it. Your body seems lined up to hit it to the right of the camera angle, but if in your mind you're aiming to hit a line straight on, this can cause problems with getting too steep/out to in...
I was considering abseiling down from the clubhouse roof but the unimpressed faces of the pro/a few members who were in it at the time persuaded me to declare it unplayable! No fun. I'd have fancied my chances of making the green with a good 3 wood...:D
What timing! I've literally just posted about this not an hour ago but I'll repeat.
10th tee, smothered a driver, low hook. Hits a tree about 15 yards away, 90 degree bounce off the trunk, lands on the pro shop roof 25 yards directly right. Bounces up onto a sloped slate roof, pings up off the...
I feel as if not enough attention is being paid to 4-putting. A 3 putt gets all the headlines but I've had my fair share of 4 putts recently. It's all in the mind because I was royally cheesed off for them all, but they do happen!
But then again I was asked if I was selling my putter by the...
