Your seasons highlights

Not many highlights for me in a mediocre season in terms of results although the game itself feels like it's moved forward

KoK Qualifier at Camberley Heath - hitting a great second to 17 to a few feet and beating RickG on countback to win

H4H - great day, great playing partners

Cuddington - Thanks to Richard for an invite to a real gem of a course and I'll definitely be up for a return

It's been a good year for me, probably summed up by saying that my golf has visibly improved!

The highlight was breaking par / breaking 70 for the first time and equalling the course record with a 67. (was preferred lies though so doesn't "count" :( )

Other than that, I won my club championship, played well in most of the county events, got through a few rounds of the "champion of champions", got into a cat 1 handicap for the first time and touched 4 (briefly).

Made several great new friendships on the course, won a trophy, continued to improve my game a bit and crept closer to the long term goal of scratch. Only 1.4 to go :)

Good thread.

My highlights of 2014. Played Western Gailes, Gleneagles Kings and Archerfield. All amazing courses and experiences.

After drifting up to 6 briefly, I got back down to 5 and I had my best medal round of +1 in the process.

Had some cracking laughs and met some pretty decent folk along the way.

Shooting lowest gross +2 to qualify for a pro-am which was a very fun intense round in blistering heat. Missed out by 4shots. Not a lot we could do as barely put a foot wrong. Most satisfying bit about the plus two was that I was all over the shop and got up and down from absolutely everywhere. It was magic.

Hole in one in a comp at home club. Nice watch which I gave to my da. Very pleased he was top.

Trip to silloth and southerners was good. Scotland didn't let me down for weather and links test. Boy was southerness tough.

Trip home to met the Irish lads plus the English visitors at the ICC.

I'd say it was a hell of a season, FD. Well played

Had an absolute stunner of a year despite playing less golf than usual for me.

Taylormade SLDR Fitting in February thanks to GM.

Silloth & Southerness trip. Shot 78 round Silloth with my first outing with the SLDR :D. Southerness was brutal!

The trip up to Inverness was fantastic and something I will never forget. Played some fantastic courses and met some great people.

The longest day challenge with Qwerty, NWJocko & Junior was a great day too raising money for a great cause. Was hard work!

Playing the Alverstone trophy at Woodhall spa. Was in contention after round 1 and feeling pretty good. Had a 13 in the second round though which ruined my chances. Still finished about 15th so left me thinking what could have been! Glyn and Peter weren't too impressed after buying me in the player auction the night before

An OOM match at Pleasington against NWjocko. Probably the purest round of golf I have ever played in terms of ball striking. 75 gross or thereabouts and barely holed a putt! One of them days when you feel embarrassed for playing so well

Won a major at my new club over 2 days. Was a bit nervy teeing off on day two but held it together to seal the deal by a shot.

H4H weekend recently. Had a great time and met some great people, its a good job because my golf was utter ****. Will deffo be doing it again next year and taking my golf swing next time.

Reaching the final of the Winter Pairs (although sadly beaten 2and1).

Part of the winning team in our club's 'Midsummer Madness' team scramble.

Winning my companies annual Golf day.

Breaking 90.

Playing Castle Stuart & Dornoch on the forum trip

Chopping a few shots off my handicap over the season

Keeping the heid on the back nine to win our Autumn Meeting and get my name etched on a very old trophy

Sinking a 30 foot putt on the 18th green to progress to the next round of our club knockout comp

Playing a few holes on my own in beautiful evening sunshine with the waves breaking on the beach and feeling very lucky.

2014, the year I didn't have a single three putt, didn't lose a ball and hardly spent anything on golf equipment....... what a year ;)

Being fitted for Ping irons courtesy of Ping and GM - many thanks. An excellent experience, despite my years of scepticism!

Won at North Hants. Played well (+1) and beat a big field to a nice prize. Also was the best course I have played for the first time this year. Great track.

After 30 odd years of golf - had my first hole in one. This was my highlight.

How's the recovery going?
Not too bad, back to work now, but still working out every morning in the swimming pool to get as much strength back as possible. Long way to go yet, but I'll get there. Golf still a long way off, even for short game stuff that I'd hoped to be able to do around this time of year. Still, I've got another chance, so, I'll make the most of it ;)

As far as season highlights go, mine are still to come..

For me, getting to the League to Dubai Grand Final!!! Roll on February!

Another highlight was beating a chap in the Nike Matchplay who is one of those guys that seems to get to every final where you get to play aboard. Wont name names, but it wasn't Muldoon (I'm not that good)

Great thread, well done all round

My highlights would have to be:

A trip to Turkey that included making par on the Monty Maxx's par 5 18th in the dark
A few GM reader days, most notably with Callaway at Stoke Park and PING at Centurion
Winning a monthly medal
Fighting back from a 7-7 start in round 2 of Club Champs to come third in the nett comp
First ever back-to-back rounds in the 70s
Finishing birdie birdie at Mike's place to win a GM staff outing
Handicap going from 13.3 to 11.7
