Following the Vivendi Trophy of the weekend,

who would you have in YOUR Ryder Cup team for next September at Celtic Manor?

Any major names you would drop?

Can't go far wrong with those Freddielong has suggested.
I would also expect to Ross Fisher.

On current form not Karlsson. That said, he has only just come back from injury, so he has time on his side.

Fair point but hopefully he will have time to play his way in as he is to good a player to leave out. Fisher is a great player but to coin a SAF phrase suffers a bit in "squeaky bum time".

Westwood
Garcia
Harrington
Stenson
Poulter
Jimminez
Karlson
Mcilroy
Kaymer
Casey
I think they would have a chance
I would have McDowell in for Poulter and Chris Wood would have to be given a thought on his preformance this weekend along with Ross Fisher. Think Jimminez might struggle to qualify along with karlson and Garcia so there may have to be a couple of big names in the wild cards. Anyone know what the team would have looked like if it had been the last 12 months.

No Donald, Rose, Fisher, Kjeldsen, McDowell.

not in your plans???

I think they could all be in with a chance of reaching the team without needing a wildcard

Sorry I just did a best case scenario I think they are our strongest players even with there problems - I would like to see Luke Donald live up to him potential but for some reason he doesn't look like he will.

If I had to chose a team TODAY these would be my men

Casey
Stenson
Harrington
Garcia
Kaymer
Westwood
Poulter
McIlroy
Fisher
Donald
Kjeldsen
Quiros

If I was Corey Pavin I'd chose the following:
Woods
Mickelson
Stricker
Perry
Furyk
Cink
O'Hair
Glover
Z. Johnson
Mahan
Toms
Na

I couldn't find a place for Poulter, Garcia & Quiros. Poulter is too easy to find fault like a younger Monty, Garcia cannot putt when he needs to and I would not like to have him make a clutch putt. Quiros needs to straighten out the driving, long is great, long and 60 yrds left or right isn't so great. I do feel a bit of a Hippocrate though as all three play golf to a standard that I could never match if I had my life over again and lived till I was 200.

What has been listed doesnt have a winning feel to me, no matter how I look at it, perhaps its because its a little early, and perhaps there aren't enough seasoned winners of big tournaments, in fact there are a number who have faultered when it really mattered in my view and I feel that is the one major negative of a large section of RC possibles. Worthy players in their own right but too many suspect faults or quirks in their makeup as a team contributor.

Now I want them to win, and there are a few names there who have the experience and winner 'air' about them, but sadly, more than an equal number of suspect charactors or the unproven for me, In this thread I see a losing team being formed more than I see a winner and Im not entirely sure why yet?

I will wait to see who is actually picked and hope they all do their best or in some cases better than their best, because I think that is what will be needed to win the next RC.

Herb remind me not to turn to you in an hour of need for words of support.....I am off to slit my European wrists after reading your assessment.

Sorry Dodger, I didnt mean to have a different opinion to you , I suppose thats what makes me unique in a way, unlike you. Being a good judge of things always puts one outside the baying crowds. Go and bully the gullable into your way of thinking Dodger, you will waste your efforts trying it with me. Oh and remember to slit lengthways wont you?
