Some very impressive scores, especially the front 9 with all the birdies on, but advising h/cap at the time puts it all in perspective.

Our course does not have many risk/reward holes, so that is one consideration, but some courses (especially with lots of water/carrys/ditches on them) can make a hell of a difference as to your attitude or plan of attack.

Generally, experience tells me to go for par 4's in reg (unless less than 3oo yards), go for most par 5's in 2 (unless there is an unlikely carry or ditch) and then just trust the putter.

At my current club my best is a 72 (sss, css 71) included an 8 at the 13th par 4 when I tried to play safe off the tee.. held it together though with three 2's in the back nine. Now, normally three twos are good enough for around 15-20 quid each, no not that day, our past captain had a ferkin hole in one and I got 8 quid per two :D haha, typical.
Played in a nine hole comp at our club a couple of years ago too and was -5 gross at the end, included 6 birdies a bogey and two pars.

Not my round but at a strokeplay event I was playing in at Royal Liverpool GC a fellow competitor had a 14 on the first and went on to card 4 over 76!

Now there's a chunk of a stableford adjustment!
