Many moments.....

Level par open comp round only to miss out on the scratch salver to the best back nine...three putted 16 as well.

Level par back 9 around Dunbar with three bogies, in medal competition.

Three under par front 9 around Dunbar in club championship qualifying.

Three medal competition rounds in the one season of 72 around Royal Musselburgh, that was just last year. Previous best was 73.

Partnering Slasher Nash to a 5 and 4 victory at Broadstone over D4S and Lovely Louise was a good day.:whoo: Louise birdied two holes amd Paul followed her in, one with a shot. Look on her face was priceless.;) Have you forgotten that day Gordon ?

Dozens, thankfully, my favorite being entirely arbitrary and changes by the day. Winning my first scratch comp under par was very special though with those who were with me on that day who were so supportive making it perfect.

No, etched on my memory because that was the day my knee tendon popped and I've not been able to ride my bike since :sbox:

Probably holing out from 240 yards for Albatross on our 15th hole. We're were only playing 15 holes that day and it halved the match !!!

I've had a lot of good moments in the last few years but, when I think it through, I have to go back in the mists of time for the best.

My dad died ten years ago this year, before I got back into golf and started taking it seriously so he never saw me actually being any good at the game. My best moment came in a game with him when I must have been in my early or mid teens. On a short, dogleg par 4 I had hit my drive on the fairway and was left with a nine iron (I think) to the green by hitting over a bit of a gorge. The green was at a lower level than us so we got a good view and I could see there was a big slope left to right to the pin so it was obvious I had to play left of the pin to allow the slope to take it. I hit it pure and watched as it pitched exactly where intended, took the break and went into the hole - the first time I ever holed out a full shot. Cue much cheering, dancing and high-fiving! :)

Sadly I don't have terribly many clear memories of golfing with him - a lot of memories flow into each other, a generic but non-specific recollection of golfing with my dad, but that one is clear and makes me smile now thinking about it.

Reading that made me smile too :)

Must be getting old & sentimental!
