can someone please tell me what the "yips" means?
They finished Tony Jacklin's career, really not good if you get a bad case as they can finish you. Not looking at this post again, just in case.

Its an affliction I wouldn't wish on anybody. My dad had dartitis as did his brother who was England B at the time and on the verge of breaking into the A team (Whitcombe, Lowe, Bristow et al). He could hit 180 one throw and then put 6 in the skirting board. He got over it but never played representative again although he is still knocking around Milton Keynes supre league.
Peter Allis has gone on record many times saying how the putting yips forced him to quit. I thought Jacklin didn't quite get that bad but was just hammered confidence wise on the greens and so stopped playing.
