If you were suddenly bestowed with the ability to play this great game to the necessary standard, would you turn your life upside-down and go out on Tour?

You've suddenly found the secret and you can play like Casey and the rest.
Would you do it? With all the upheavel of living out of suitcases in another hotel in another country week after week, not seeing HID or the kids (maybe a good thing!) for long periods? The potential rewards are immense. But would you risk it?

I would. In an instant.

I would do it in an instant, without any hesitiation.
If you had the ability and the chance to join the tour, and didn't do it, you might regret it for the rest of your days.
PS. With a subject title like that I thought it was going to be a topic for a different forum !!!

the only drawback that I can see is that from a year of touring the world, unless you fail to make the cut all you'll see is nothing but course and hotel in a lot of countries.

Its a tough one that play in the winter league with your mate or tour the world playing good courses with the sun on your back and getting paid

AAAHHH Viscount, don't spoil the dream man :(

Yeah I'd do it, absolutely. For 3 or 4 years - make a mint and then retire :) :D

IN YOUR DREAMS ;) :p

Golfmmad.

Tough one this one. Right now I'd say I'd love to have a dream year on the European Tour win the Claret Jug, make the Ryder Cup team get 6/6 and retire. But there's no way after a year like that you could retire. I think most people with enough talent would love to play their sport professionally.

But how's this for a question would you rather go down in the annals of history as:

A modern day Bobby Jones by winning all four majors in one year OR

The greatest Ryder Cup player of all time taking a maximum 24 pts across four cups?

Well, I could continue life in the fast lane as an accountant. Or, I could play the game I love with & against the best of 'em?

I'll stay as an accountant, cheers

Hmmm. Let me think about this for a second.

Make pots of cash from my hobby whilst seeing the world etc, etc, whilst watching my former colleagues toil away in the public sector?

I would be mad not to.
