Would you mind?

Why would he. Absolutely no sense in that. If its a bounce game he can do more or less what he wants but I think in a comp he has no option but to apply his handicap. As long as he put his three cards in to get 28 and has his qualifiers in, if he then goes out and plays well in a comp and wins, I've no problem. He won't be 28 anymore anyway.

Strange question , just wondering the thought behind asking it ?? I would leave other peoples handicaps to the committe , can play off +5 for all i care it wont change the way i aproach my own game . i play golf for me ..

Thanks for the replies. I understand that people would think he was mad. I also believe it isn't against the rules and 0 would simply be used to calculate his result.

I really want to know if any one would object? Would anyone be annoyed if he did it, or think it was bad etiquette for him to do it?

I don't mean the question to be facetious and would love to explain the mad thought process that resulted in me asking it. Unfortunately I have been trying for two days to write the explanation and my written English is just not good enough. It is either a 10 page ramble or sounds like a deliberately controversial wind up.

Where's brendy with his "ban" button when you need him.

Answer to the OP would you not be disqualified for playing off a false handicap?

I believe you can put a lower handicap but that will be the one used for the comp. you can't however declare a higher handicap.

Is correct.
Many big comps at big courses have a handicap limit of. say, 24 but higher handicaps can play off the lower number.

Can't think of a reason why anyone would want to do it but whatever floats yer boat......

It's OK, we all know that Yorkshire is not really English but a subset of Sandskrit, just like Scouse and Bristolian.

Could this have an effect on the CSS tho? A 28 handicapper playing to his handicap would actually be 28 over par if he played off scratch. Have no idea how it's calculated so feel free to point and laugh if it doesn't work like that.
