If you had the chance, the money or the tickets, would you still go to this years World Cup or not?

Personally, I wouldn't nor holiday there now.

Did East to West just pre 2000.
Loved it. Lovely service attitude and friendly people (bar a NY Times Square camera shop where staff got aggressive about my refusal to get mugged for a lens cap).
Twice since, more recent times planned to do the Deep South tour but couldn't condone supporting the regime.

Pretty much me but I’m hoping things do improve over there in the coming years so we could make a trip over in the future 👍
We are hoping also - in time but 100% not now - so no to the WC. We’ve already had our ‘big’ holiday for the year, though if ticket for a match in Canada or Mexico became available I might.

My wife may be going with a few girl friends later this year as one of their group is a English expat married to a New Yorker -she has a significant birthday; lives up the Hudson and also has a house in North Carolina. If the plan is to meet up at their NC home then one of the girls (of Ghanian heritage) has said she 100% will not go - and that could scupper the plan…all go or none go.

The OP was pretty broad.
Say an unexpected competition win was on the table - all in.

Despite reservations, I think I'd be looking at the locations and itinerary and would be considering it.

If moneys no option it would be better than work so I’d go yeah.
But in real life I’ve not much interest in international football.
Would need to be private jet though a flight to america with a couple hundred drunk tartan army I can think of nothing worse.
