Worsley Park

It'd be a good place for a future Forum Meet given that the course is decent and the Pubs Close by etc, Theres a Great beer garden/huge lawn outside the Worsley Old Hall. Perfect for several post round summer evening Beers.
Maybe look into it for something in the future.

You just designated yourself chief organiser ️⛳

Yes please!!!!!!!

Great idea, its only 4 miles from my home.

Well it's pretty cheap, we changed our venue last minute and got 2 rounds (Sat & Sun), Dinner, Bed & Breakfast for £134 each.

Enjoyed it when I played it (despite playing AWFULLY). Nice variety of holes, but need to make sure your iron play and distance control is good, the greens are massive. End up on the wrong side of the green and you can end up with some right stinky putts. Playing it again for the Work social in May, looking forward to it.

Thanks everyone.

Thanks Lou, unfortunately I doubt I'll have any time, driving up Sat 8th playing from lunchtime then dinner/bb and play Sunday 9th morning.

Let me know how it is after your round on Monday ️⛳

Just back from playing it, the 2nd time I have play all 18 holes there and it is a nice course which keeps you interested.
The status of the course was mixed, the fairways were generally pretty good, a little damp in places but nothing too bad, the greens weren't in great condition, very marked around the holes, I missed a 12 inch putt which seemed to jump sideways. The rough wasn't good very wet and quite muddy in places too. You need to hope that there is a good spell of decent weather without much rain before you play there.
Watch out for the greens, a lots of slopes which really turn the ball even though it was wet, also prepare for a slow round, we went out behind a society, they had 2 holes starts and we caught them on the 6th, our round took 4 and 3/4 hours.

Thanks Lou, I think all parkland courses are going to be wet still with what has fallen from the skies of late, as long as the fairways & greens are decent I'll be happy, if I end up in the tough it's my own fault anyway.

Thanks for the insight 👍

Well with the dry weather we have experienced over the last few days and a so-called heatwave set for the weekend, I'm looking forward to my 2-day trip to Manchester tomorrow.

How did this go Fish? Looking for venues for our annual trip and thinking of Worsley as a potential place to go to. Was it busy on an evening, was the food ok? I've played the course so know what that's like just wondering about the rest really.
