If you played five times a week and I know guys who do this in a regular four ball ,
in a bad spell you could double or half your hcap in a fortnight.
This is surely a nightmare for the people who do the cards the workload is enormous.
at my club it's like a comp every day the amount of golfers.

an example like this was shown and there was something in the system that prevented a rise above your average, and would recognise a spell of poor performance. It wouldn't lead to an unrealistic rise.

Not sure how it works with our current draconian method of handling score cards and handicap secretaries workloads.
It'd have to be digital and instant.
I'm not sure how it's done USGA style without researching the way they input scores.

Just before I left NZ 4 years ago I played at a club where you inputted your unique number ( CDH number here ) , a card was then printed off with your handicap and it was made out in much the same way as lottery entries were in that if you had a 4 on the hole you blanked out that 4 on your card and so on and so forth . You then scanned the card at the end in the widget and it was loaded automatically to the national system

I was also at the Warwickshire and contributed quite a bit, being the shy, introvert kind of guy that I am :smirk:

I accused the golf committee attendees of being part of the draconian 'darkside', which got a ripple of laughter.

I was asked to stay behind and was asked some further questions and was videod also at the end during an interview.

I found it very informative, it's still a little raw and confusing in parts, especially the 'opt in / opt out scenario, but overall I think it would be a good thing!
