Work for an American Oil & Gas company producing xmas trees. (wellheads)
Apologies mate, I only used the term as a differentiation, no derogatory intent at all, a good 2/3rd of our customers are from down south and our support systems use the word Eire (we all know Eire is irish for Ireland!), to me and anyone I know or work with, its not seen as a put down. Apologies all the same if it has (and it seems it must have) caused offense.Personal Injury claims handler for a large multi national insurance company based in Dublin.
Brendy not wishing to cause any offence but i hate people calling Ireland Eire-it reminds me of Unionist politicians of the 60's and 70's who used the word Eire as a totally derogatory term.
