Im becoming increasingly uncomfortable with this story.
I fully agree (if these stories are true) that TW has been a prat and has by his actions put his family life and public personna in jeopardy.

But what makes me really concerned is the glee and humour it is been treat with by the public and the press, and the automatic acknowledgement that Tiger is the one at fault here.

Since when did we find someone sufferring domestic violence funny, acceptable and deserved. If it had been Tiger wealding the club, whatever the provocation, would anyone have suggested that he was the victim, would anyone have found Elins cuts and bruises something to poke fun at.

Surely domestic violence is always wrong and definately nothing to laugh at.

She might be small and not be able to generate the same club head speed as him, but a 9 iron in the chops still hurts like ***k.
In my view someone being hospitalised as a result of their spouse attacking them with a golf club is a victim of domestic violence.

Dodger, in what way does this comment correlate with a) what you posited and b) what I responded with?

A gentleman, if caught on the job, has to expect the possibility of a bit of a slap from the missus. Conversely, a gentleman catching his wife on the job can give the other fella a clip but has to restrain himself from swiping at her. Call me old fashioned, but that's just the way it is and always should be.

I think you'll find that domestic abuse/domestic violence are interchangeable terms and to compare a one-off incident to DA (or DV if you prefer) is grossly insensitive to the women (and men) that suffer at the hands of it. Go to a battered women's shelter and see what they think of your comparison.

I wasn't making any assessment of your attitude towards it, merely allaying your spin on the TW event to that of the IPCC's recently revealed happiness to subvert data they don't like, or 'an inconvenient truth' if you will.

No idea where you have got the Alan Shearer bit from (nothing like making stuff up to support your argument...ooh that'll be the IPCC again...) or where racism or religious bigotry fits in, but if it keeps you happy, you carry on.

Totally fed up now of hearing, reading about Tiger Woods , yes he is a great player but at the end of the day he has been found to be human and not a Nike robot after all.
The winners and the losers in this case are his wife and kids they could walk of with $300 million if they want a nice wee settlement thank you very much, it would just be another Swedish divorce (there divorce rate is really high)and the kids lose a dad. But the biggest loser could one Brains from Thunderbirds look alike Mr Tim Finchem, man is ass must be squeaking at the thought of Tiger saying bugger this i dont need the hassle and secondly the sponsors saying we dont need the bad press or lack of TV exposure as he's not there.

Sorry Toon, try as I might I cant think of another definition for violence between a man and wife in a domestic situation. Ask his kids if they think mummy was right to hit daddy with a golf club. Rich people might not end up in shelters, but they still bleed.
