Golf was big before Tiger and it was because Arnold Palmer no one else.I hope Tiger justifies he`s Fee and he`s fans on here by making the cut in Abu Dhabi.Its like you guys are saying he needs to do nowt from now on but because he`s been good everythings justified, fee`s etc.Personally for a PR stunt that the Tiger fee is i`d rather see Jack there the worlds greatest golfer of all time .

I think if you look back over time, everyone at the peak of the game has been offered money and inducements to play events. Its part and parcel of the pro game and Woods has been quite upfront and basically said his schedule is about chasing the $ first and then worrying about how he plays after. Mercenary? Perhaps but if that is what sponsors want to do to ensure the biggest names tee it up then so be it. the tour can't survive without sponsorship and sponsors won't part with cash if they aren't getting value for money. One feeds the other.

That appearance money they will be hoping to claw back in other areas. It is a business after all.
