As the anticipation builds for the weekend, like a few others I've been looking at the limited info available on the web for the courses. There seem to be quite a few shortish par 4's! This got me to thinking maybe it's time to let the 5 wood out of the naughty cupboard to give more options off the tee and rest the 60 deg.

Experimented on our course last nght using the sand wedge for those troublesome chips where you need to get up and down quick and seemed to work equally as well as the 60 deg.

From the (very) limited info available it looks like the Bracken may be more a parkland type course? and the Hotchkin a heathland with possibly tighter lies, me and the 60 deg have had words a few times off tight lies!

Anyone else considering altering their bag for the weekend? - except Smiffy with his bucket and spade and sticks of dynamite I mean!

Nope, will take my standard set, and hack round as per usual.

Still got my odd 8i too. No chance of getting the other one back til at least next week. The shaft is coming from Colarado, by carrier snail.

Same as usual for me, except last week I swopped out my 3 iron for a 20° hybrid because it's more versatile.
It performed well so it'll be staying.
