Hi all,

After a trip to Spain, I noticed something is off with my putter. It looks like the head is closed on address. Not a bent shaft or grip, compared to the same putter as mine in the pro shop and it's exactly the same, just the head on mine is a degree or two closed.

Apparently heating the glue where the head is should allow me to twist it back to neutral. Is it really that simple?

how long have you had it?

My first thought is always to send it back to get the manufacturer to fix/replace it, I've done it a few times with different clubs and different issues.

Either I'm unlucky with clubs or the build/quality control is not the best.

The truth is, I've not got the time or the energy to faff about sending it off to Odyssey / Callaway for them to have it for a week or two to send it back to me at my expense. If it's a simple job as some websites have made out i'd rather just do it myself. 10 mins in the shed could save 2 weeks without a putter!

heating the glue would allow you to twist the head, but the bond would be broken and you'd have to re glue with epoxy afterwards.

you would need to have a heat gun at least and possibly a blow torch in that shed of yours to be sure you'd get it off.

taking the grip off and putting it on so that the head is square at address might be more straightforward, cheaper and crucially - more easy to resolve if the job doesn't go quite to plan...

Grab the head in your left hand and the grip in your right hand (assuming you are right handed). And twist. Hard. If the shaft moves, it needs to be glued again. If the grip moves, it needs to be set again or regripped.

Sounds like a reason to get a shiny one
