Ryder Cup Winner
Thanks for all the well wishes folks.
I've just got back a couple of hours ago and thought I'd update this before I try to catch up with the 1500
eek: haven't you people got anything better to do!?) posts that have been made in the last 4 days.
My trials started well. Put on the tv table first match, and won 3-2 from 2-1 down, not playing my best but just enough to get the job done.
Then it all went downhill. I lost my next 3-2 after having a thin cut down the rail to win at 2-1 up, then my third match was against a very good player that had previously been in the England squad and although I didn't do a great deal wrong I lost 3-1.
The last match my head had gone down a little bit and I went for everything and lost 3-0.
The team event went a lot better. We beat Cleveland 23-14 and Buckinghamshire 23-13 in the groups, Bristol 23-18 in the semi & Nottinghamshire 23-15 in the final.
The only downside was having to wait about an hour and a half for a ladies match to finish
before they would start the presentation and we could all get away.

I wouldn't say I held my own (or even did myself justice) but I certainly didn't disgrace myself. Even more so considering 2 of the people I lost to went on to qualify.
