Winter Golf Mats

Don't think either Brora or dornoch use mats, both top 100 courses and right at the top of Scotland.
I'm pleased you like your little mat and happy that the fairways are a bit nicer for you in April.
I have no idea what they do but I suspect Brora in particular gets far less winter useage than most.
Yup very happy with my mat thanks :)

No doubt a responsible member will pull you up and rightly so.
Then they will get the same response as the responsible member last year who pulled me up for not using a Mat on the fringe for a bump and run.

There are course requirements for mats now?!? Bet you are fun on a night out ?
You do realise that members golf courses can make all kinds of rules....to suit their requirements?

And no.....I'm no fun at all. Bed by 10pm....up by 6am. Boring as hell.

Ah the good old winter mat where people in warmer climates playing parkland clay courses get confused on the reasons why courses on link turf exposed to harsher wind and temps use mats to protect their fairways - it’s almost as if it’s a waste employing them head greenkeeper or getting those fully qualified Agronomists into the clubs ?
