Since I gave up my membership at Craigielaw back in April I've been hankering for the chance to get out to play more "as and when the urge takes me". Nomad golf requires some planning it seems.

So I was chuffed to discover Edinburgh Council are offering a great winter deal of £99 for unlimited golf at their six courses from now until 31st March. Ding dong. Gives me a chance to get out there and solves my girlfriend's problem of what to get me for my birthday and xmas.

Just thought I'd make this great deal known to anybody in the Edinburgh area. Here's the link;-

John,

We are hoping to make a trip once a month to a links course just to get a swing and putt on half decent greens, there are some gems at great prices including West Kilbride, St Nicholas, Glasgow Gailes, Glen etc, I will keep you in mind.

You are also welcome through to the Castle anytime you want to head West.

John,

Definately good value for money. Last summer they offered kids a £20 ticket for all their golf over the summer holidays, that got a good response and hopefully will be repeated next summer. The winter season ticket has had a good uptake so far so I'm told.

The courses have had a bit of investment put into them and are in quite good nick at the moment. I keep meaning to go and play some of them again, but neve get round to it. Must make that a priority I think.

If you're looking for a new club then why not come up and join us at the Braids United at Braid Hills. Only another £50 on top of your £99. Bargain.

We play every Saturday around 12:00 (also have a couple of times around 08:00) and our winter stableford league kicks off this weekend.
