Just been into Gloucester Golf Centre (you must know these guys Aztecs) to collect my Powakaddy after servicing and found that they were doing this deal on Wilson Staff Balls:-

TX4 Pro - £19.99 (Bought a dozen as I really like the FG Tours and wondered what a 4-piece Wilson Staff was like)
FG Tours - £18.99 (my normal choice of ball)
DX3 - £9.99! Cheapest I've seen anywhere!
DX2 - £9.99 as above

I did ask the guys if they would do Mail Order and they said yes, but didnt ask how much sorry! But if you're from around Glooooooooooooucester worth a punt.........and no I'm not on commission!

I've used the DX2/3's in the past as winter balls, found them to be pretty good although they do tend to get quite dirty and have to go through the ball washer on a regular basis. Thought the FG tour was a bit spongy, just doesn't feel like it comes off the clubface with any speed but I believe there is now a firmer version out which should be better.

Blimey. Might pop down there then. Only been in a few times. They seem to have endless 2nd hand clubs but not a lot of new stuff as I suppose they don't have the room as the place it absolutely tiny. I believe they have a proper fitting area upstairs though.

Wilson balls are quality, I never had any issues of spongyness with the FG tours, I was recommended them by a few forumers and some members at my club.

I found it felt fantastic off the club face, it is a great ball to play with and that price has me tempted to stock up again as its been a year since I last got any.

Still have 10 left from 3 doz,I burnt through most of them in 3 months at my old course, was playing 3-4 times a week though!

Yes mate it is tiny with loads of second hand clubs there but I did try the Cobra AMP and RBZ there a few weeks ago on their simulator upstairs.

Also the clothes are overpriced, but they only charged me £15 to service my Powakaddy and install a new wire all the way up the frame and into the motor whicch was very reasonable. Also, as before good price on balls too as before plus I remember they are doing the Srixon Trispeeds for £14.99!

Nice guys in there too.

You down here quite a bit then? You should come for a round at my place one time. If I'm honest I never think to go there for golf stuff as I keep forgetting it's there!! But the guys are top blokes, one of them works at the range at Brickhampton too as he's plying his trade to become a pro. He's left handed though and looks weird when he plays lol.

I work in Bromsgrove and have a lot of projects down the M5 corridor (yesterday I was in Bristol).

Thanks for the invite fella. Unfortunately I am having a 3 month sebatical at the moment due to my first child being born 3 weeks ago. However I will let you know when the shackles are released in 9weeks ;-)
