Played today using this ball for the first time the FG Tour Wilson ball, alright the skys were overcast and the air heavy and dense, but this ball went know where.

I could just get no distance out of this ball, normal 8 iron 145/150 yards short, same club on par 3`s short, driver short, bitterly disappointed in this ball after reading the review in golf monthly magazine.

After 9 holes change back to Titliest NXT TOUR and what a difference in distance, maybe in summer this ball will come out on its own, but for winter leave in the bag.

Try play with a pinnacle in winter and you will be amazed at the distance you get, these two piece urethane top of the range balls go nowhere in our conditions maybe suited for southen hemisphere golf.

What works for you? would like to hear views.

Well, it's news to me that a Pinnacle distance ball will go further in the winter than a Wilson FG Tour ball that needs a very high swing speed to get the most out of it. Who'd have thunk it?

Comparing the FG tour to a Pinnacle is like comparing Apples with Pears it doesn't match.

I'm a massive fan of the FG Tour and FG Tour X balls superb feel and control and never lost any distance. But I wouldn't play the FG tour or any other premium ball at this time of year due to the cold and there's no requirement for the addition control with the soft ground.

Your always better of with an nxt type this time of year.

Fg Tour is probaly one of the softest balls out there. Stick with a two or 3 piece ball at this time of year as anything will stop on the soft greens.

Stunning ball in the summer, hit a drive 374 yards with one!

It was the ideal ball for me but I wouldn't dream of using it in the winter, too soft and too spinny. Much preferred a AD333 or alike then.

I agree that the two models, Pinnacle and FX aren't comparable. At this time of year with the greens being (relatively) soft most balls will pitch and hold. I use a premium make and found no issues with distance today despite the air temperature being rather chilly and a moderate breeze. Yes, I might have got another 10 yards using a firmer ball but with the course playing its longest at the moment would that really have made a huge diiference to the lon par 4's and par 5's I can't reach anyway?
