About the state of greens after they hace been sanded after coring

2012-06-23171644.jpg

In some parts of Victoria Australia, these are their greens as severe drought doesn't allow watering !!
Apprently you raked over any foot prints etc after you have putted out.;)

I played 'golf' in the Ascension islands many years ago where they have 'BROWNS' not greens. Small round flattish areas covered in sand and oil (hence the colour) where you rake the green when you're finished.
I believe it was voted the second worst golf course in the world. (second to a course somewhere in OZ)

Played Collingtree three weeks ago and the course and greens were in good condition. About time its' reputation from one British Masters fiasco was buried?

Same principle I'd guess Bob, in Oz they're referred to as "Scrapes" Not for me but I guess when you've been in a drought for 5 years you're grateful for anything, me I'd rather head up the coast and get on some of the "sand Belt" course, maybe next visit ;)

Never played it but have visited.

One Boat Golf Club im sure it was called which was near Two boats village (or should I call it row of houses).

Smashing place Ascension, been 15 years since I was there and will never be there again I suppose.
