So the new house is in what seems to be a pretty poor spot for phone reception and the current solution seems to be to use wifi calling. Broadband/mobile co support it (now that we have broadband 18 days late!), sadly my phone doesnt so good excuse to upgrade from what is comfortably the worst mobile ive ever owned (Moto G5).

Any recommendations for a mid range Android phone that has wifi calling and decent battery life (they seem to be the 2 most important factors to me currently)

Anyone use wifi calling regularly and is it decent?

Anyone got or used a Sony XA2? If so reviews?

Call your mobile company and ask for a booster box. Ee gave me one when I moved and it gives me full signal in the house

hmmmm, with BT who use EE and theyre saying that wifi calling a far better option (may have to go direct to EE!)

I blame the solicitor who let me buy a house in a poor signal area personally ;)

Im with Three and use WiFi calling all the time when at home. Works flawlessly for me. I do use an iPhone though so a little different to what you’re proposing.

A must in a new build house, like living in a faraday cage!

I didn’t have it before but now my provider offers it we have ditched the landline. It’s the bees knees!

I'm quite a heavy mobile user. I've had 3 different Sony Xperias now and can't fault any of them really. Obviously the more expensive ones have stuff like better camera, longer lasting battery etc bt even the most basic is easily adequate for everyday use, and they all supoort wifi calling as far as I am aware.

Me too, have to use it in the office, which is not very good - probably due to the office wifi, but it works fine at home.

I use EE and my wifi-calling was patchy so gave them a ring and they sent a booster that is like a mini router (for nothing). Just plug in and my signal was considerably improved - no real problems now.

Unhelpfully for handset recommendations, we are an Iphone family!

I use wifi calling (via Skype) all the time for work. As I work from home I am obs totally dependent upon my home wifi.

But horrors - over the last couple of days my wifi has 'out of the blue', and after years of being perfect and stable, has become become terrible - dropping off all the time. I have done the unplugging of the router from the power and taking out landline feed etc, resetting it. But it's not happening. Having to do this post tethered to my phone using 3G signal...not great.

Panic - what do I do - any ideas what's gone wrong? Or how I can try and resolve it?
