How can 'we need to get a new lounge carpet' change within 24 hours to.

2 new bedroom carpets
8 new doors and skirtings
2 new fixed wardrobes
Complete re-decorate
New shower and lights

I think I shall have a busy summer!

It's called nest building mate and unfortunately there is no known cure , go with the flow.

I feel for you doon.. Mrs rooter asked me to paint a small patch on the wall where one of the kids had scuffed their bag 2 weeks ago.

That ended with:

Repaint entire downstairs
all skirting boards repainted
doors painted
door frames
Same upstairs
reseal all skirt and frames with silicon
reseal kitchen worktop

then there was a knock at the door and its an estate agent to value our house, and now we are apparently moving house and i have an appointment with the bank this week...

Fortunately Missis tash finds it therapeutic, who am I to argue with a nurse. However I have to wallpaper as she's no good at it.

i remind her, they teach three yr olds in nursery how to paint, they don't teach them how to hang wall paper.

Godness, don't start on daughters, lost count of the number of times we have done up their flats and houses.
My missus is a good decorator, very slow and careful. she even follows manufacturers instructions.

Having just moved to a new build everything is still in tip top condition and we have the builders coming back in six months once the house has started to settle to fill in cracks, touch up the paint etc so I am in a good place for a couple of years. By that time I'll be getting a man in!!

For ideas we visited a couple of show homes this weekend.
The decoration was absolutely hellish, cheap and nasty fittings, and about £100,000 overpriced.

Somehow think I was duped there!

I went to Orlando for 10 days golf with the lads and the missus got the whole downstairs decorated by experts what a cheek . so no more decorating for me HAPPY DAYS.

Having just moved to a new build everything is still in tip top condition and we have the builders coming back in six months once the house has started to settle to fill in cracks, touch up the paint etc so I am in a good place for a couple of years. By that time I'll be getting a man in!!

Couple of years back, one of the draw fronts in the kitchen came off in wor lasses hand, went to B&Q to replace the draw only to find that the draw runners were that old, they couldn't be replaced. So from a knackered draw it escalated to:-

1. A new draw unit, which
2. escalated to two new units as they orginals were a cobbled together rubbish
3. this then meant a new cooker unit, which
4. which meant a new cooker and hob

You can see where this went...

So basically the kitchen units got replaced, the floor got redone, the walls re-tiled, the power sockets replaced, walls that were not tiled got painted, new skirting.

We went from a broken draw to a whole new kitchen.
