Why would you buy.....???????

Some people prefer a little more weight on their putters, wedges etc. Not the sort of thing you would do with no professional input as you could just end up wasting money and time.
 
Cheers Brendy makes sense really.... just would have thought that would have had more of a negative effect on the balance.....each to their own :D
 
You can also use then to re-balance a club that has had it's length altered.

Another example of it's use, could be you shorten a putter to suit you and then find you are coming up short of the hole. In this case adding weight (to the putter head in this case) may benefit you. A rough guide would be about 12 grams for an inch.
