popped into AG this afternoon, to try nikes method drone putter and only the putter, but the friendly sales assistent also told me about nikes new VRS irons that had just yesterday came in, (which i have lusted after since i first saw them a good while back)

temptation got the better of me and into the nets i went with a 7iron, came out mightly annoyed that i didnt hit 1 bad shot at all in a sense that the ball flew off the face like nothing and strait down the middle of the nets

now im stuck keep my current putter save a lil longer annoy the wife and get the irons :(

guess you lot have done this before lol

This is exactly what you wanted and knew would happen the minute you walked through the door!

Pointless resisting!

What he said!!!

Make a plan to get what you want!! Its like making a shot.. Visualize the outcome and make it happen. :whoo:

Buy them, hide them from the wife! will they give you a part ex on your existing irons? surely that way, you actually could not say no!!

unless your wedges are hot enough to chip in from off the green every time, a putter is the only club your assured to use every hole. Bonding with a putter is a sure way to scramble scores, if i had the choise between a hot putter and straighter irons, id choose a putter everytime.

Ive just treated myselt to a new putter, and as chrisd & scott found out on its day its deadly, even on frozen greens. ;)

Or buy both, and sell your old kit to help finance the project, and dont tell the misses.

"Hi there how are you"
"Fine"
"Got a nice bit of kit in, try it out for half an hour or so"
"Yea thanks"
"Well how did it go"
"Great. how much for my current kit. Mmm I'll have it"
Hell I only looked in for a pair of earplugs.

Motorcycles and Golf kit have so much in common! But you know it makes sense.

My pro got some demo clubs in yesterday of the nike stuff and I have to say it all looked very nice in my opinion, even the cavity irons were reasonably pretty imo

part ex is next to nothing on them AG/OG and DG dont stock them anymore, mine are less than a year old and golfbidder have them listed from £191 so private sale i will have to look for and AG offered me 30quid for my method 004.... when they retail at £119! im happy to keep the putter tho tbh

Just tell her you are trying them for GM on a three month trial. Providing she doesn't see the credit card bill she'll have forgotten you had them by then. Even then you can say GM gave them to you as a reward

My new Cobra driver and 3 wood are sitting quietly in my bag waiting for the weather to improve before they get given a smack. My wife didn't notice at all. Luckily, I get up early and managed to creep out to the boot of the car and bring them both in at 5 in the morning while she was still snoring. The raincover is on the bag and firmly zipped up, so unless I undo that she'll never know....

I hate when that happens. You know they won't go straight if you buy them. Those demo clubs are programmed to behave. They are like a 12 year old on the day before they become a teenager and it's their birthday when you buy them.......

My MX200's did that. Biggest load of crap I ever bought. And I was custom fitted!

I did similar but got rumbled by different head cover, never realised HID took so much notice by escaped when explaining new design looked so much better so that's all I had bought on eBay. Good job she never took headcover off or bottle of tipped spilt over driver excuse was on it's way!! :-)

Easy answer to that one.......
Couple of 'Pom-Pom' style , neutral, or even 'Novelty' headcovers, rotate your clubs til your hearts content, just keep same covers
Or, alternatively, get yourself a wife that knows nothing about, nor, cares about, this grand old game we play......
