the practising on the range has been going well. Then when it comes to playing on the course the swing goes belly up. Its killing me of late. Any tips on taking the game from range to course.

It's pure repetition at the range, you can't do that on the course.

Solution - a good warm up session, take plenty club, play percentage shots, swing smoothly and trust the swing!

It's a head game as much as a physical one.

I agree totally. Warm up but don't think about any technical aspects other than getting loose and getting a nice tempo. Ignore the bad ones. Step on the first tee and remember hitting a good one and how you felt. Trust the work you've put in and let the swing flow naturally. All that can happen is you lose a few quid or go back up 0.1. No-one will get hurt and the world will keep spinning.

Defo in my head of late.Had a session with my pro on the mind set side of my game. I trust my swing, just dont think it trusts me. I alway have a warm up before playing. I feel naked if I dont. Its funny you say play the percentage because thats what I've been doing. I asked myself whats the worst score I would like to shoot. I play off 11. par on my course is 71 so I like to shoot no more than 87. I played like this. took driver off the tee on par 4,5. For my 2nd shot I would just take a 5h then a nice little chip/ pitch onto the green. Hopefully that would get close to hole then put for par or bogie at worst. Finished round with a score of 83 . Should try and play like it more often, rather than just wanting to hit the ball big distance all the time

Several things...

1st - there's no pressure on the range
2nd - You are more lenient on the range
3rd - Repetition builds short term muscle memory which can't be repeated on the course

weather your at the course or range i think you have to have a talk to yourself before your shots,,

for me last month, it was trust your swing, i used to say this before i took the shot, this month its feet,,shoulders,,grip,,& chin high this seams to be helping at the minute for me
