I've heard that he feels he doesn't play well while wearing one so no amount of sponsorship money will get him to wear one.

Ding dong - idea for Taylormade - get a hat you line up and then put it on Rocks head, don't allow his caddy to line him up and then they will sell billions of lining up hat thingies 
It makes me laugh when the pros wear their hats all the time - then they take them off and have golfers tan. Straight line half way up their head and a lighter strak at the top.
