Why do we settle for second best in the UK

What handicap are you? Are cast really that inferior? Better tell Westwood that his I20's he has in the bag are shoddy. It doesn't make a huge difference to me off 12 as I can hit both a cast and forged club equally inconsistently.

A lot of Japanese golf is based on social networking etc and so there is a cachet on having the best products available. Unfortunately you only have to go somewhere with a large Far Eastern membership like Silvermere or Leatherhead and see that all this top of the range gear doesn't stop them nobbling it fifty yards a time and still refusing to let others through

Yes please tell us what handicap you are playing to? Is this a topic for sub 5 hadicappers only?
 
We have some very good clubs here that are most likely not available in Japan, the Orka's that I play being one of them. And to be honest, it takes a much better player than you or I to tell the difference between cast and forged clubs.

Not sure I would agree with that 100%.
 
I would go as far to say I can notice the defference between my TM R7's and my Mizzys (Cast vs Forged) but agree with Twire as I've never hit a forged TM club so the comparison is a little pointless.
 
Why cant you compare. I can only comment on what i have used. Hitting my Miura wedges is like putting a hot knife through butter, they are so soft. Nothing like hitting my old cast Callaways. So to me there is a difference, and its not down to the shape of the head, its the material. Try a google search, and read what people say about hitting quality forged clubs.
 
I've got 3 sets of irons, forged Orka's and Mizuno MP60's and cast Callaway x-14 Pro series. There is very little difference in feel between them on any shot hit out of the middle of the bat.

That's in your head my friend having flushed my Ping Tour S wedge and also hit a few Anser wedges the difference was very minimal. I would suggest that if I didn't know what club I was hitting I may have struggled to tell what was what from just ball striking.

Then please explain why more tour pro's choose to use Vokey wedges,than any other brand ?
