Why do people think they can play golf?

I have successfully conned my club and playing partners into thinking I can play golf...

I regularly play with non golfers. Some of them really do think that it ill be easy, but you have to encourage them as they might catch the bug.
Most are realistic that it is going to be difficult. but the ones that get me are the ones with a grands worth of equipment, and have not had a lesson! Then expect you to teach them!
