Only 2 weeks ago i posted in another thread that i was 100% happy with my bag and would not be changing anything for a few months. Yet today i find myself looking at R11 & Burner 2 3 woods.

Now ive got an itch that says my 3wood & 5wood shaft are too weak, my driver swing speed is around the AVG 110mph, and when ever ive got my 3 or 5 w in hand i never feel i can really go at the ball and always have to hold back slightly. Now maybe this is a blessing in disguise as i use my 3 and 5 as my safety clubs on bad driving days, and because i know i cant go at them hard that may be their safety feature. I have to swing easy and smooth...... but this dam itch still tells me a R11 3w with matching blur stiff shaft is needed in the bag.

Doctor doctor, i think im suffering with Thecraw-itis.....

How many other although they say their happy with their current set up fail to stop looking and thinking about new shiney stuff.

I have been happily married for over a year now :D

I do not think I suffer from this as I am too tight with my wallet unless its for lessons or something that is a HUGE significant change.

Like changing from stock to custom fitten shafts in my woods, well worth it. Swapping my ancient beginner cast clubs for some nice forged irons to match my improving swing... also WELL worth it!

It would take a LOT to convince me to change my putter, does need trimming down, as do my wedges.

Me, I thought I was happy after I got my iron but I think the more I learn the more I want to replace. "oh I have been fitted for stiff shafts in my irons, I wonder if I should have them in my woods" I give it a try and I gain, now I want!!

Ye Ill never be happy now I think but I am going towards the classic brands, Mizzy, Titleist and maybe Ping and away from the neon brands like TM, Cobra, Nike and the likes, that way I may get more life out of them.

Its me all over, I did the same with Karting and spend all my money on new Karts every year, clubs are cheep compaired. I do hope to get to a point and leave it but history says I wont.

Hi,

Completly with you on this one!!

Only purchased my custom fitted G15's last summer, already changed the driver for a R11. The fairway for a K15 and Hybrid also.

Next week i have a fitting in Wrexham for some new Mizuno's!!!

When will it end?

Did the same when i used to fish, thing is people keep getting good gear of me at rock bottom prices.

Simple answer, I love trying new clubs and the feeling of starting a round with a brand new club that is so going to out perform the old one. I do not spend money on much else and getting new kit gives me a nice warm glow so i will keep going when I can afford it. I would honestly say that I would be a bit disappointed if I felt that I would never want to change another club in my bag.

Women have shoes and handbags, I have golf kit.

+1 - When I look at the kit in my bag I have a really hard time convincing myself I would improve by changing it. Plus I can't afford to change it

I love trying out the new models when they come just to see what would and wouldn't suit my game. I'd convinced myself that the I15 or the JPX800 Pro would be ideal (and the outlaws and my my were going to club together for Chrimbo) and I did hit them well (with the exception of the 4 iron in the I15). I tried the Mizzy MP53 and 63, AP1, Burner 2.0 etc and eventually decided that I'm fine as I am. I'm not playing well anyway mainly due to winter swing changes and being a golfing numpty regularly and new irons won't change that.

However I've still got a hankering for these new TM forged irons, plus the Razr's. The new Srixon and Cleveland CG16's are out, there is the Nike pro combo etc. So many shiny bats, so little resistance to trying them.

Despite my recent run of bad form, I am very happy with the clubs I have in my bag. I know it's me not the sticks.
I have a Ping i15 Driver and 3 wood, and a G10 5 wood. The only club I might be tempted by at sometime in the future would be a matching i15 5 wood, but I can live without it.
I'm more interested in the new Garmin S1 Approach SatNav at the moment. Very tempted to pull the trigger on it as there are no download fees and it's preloaded with every course I could want. And having it on the wrist in place of my usual watch wouldn't be a hardship.
The Missus says I've got to wait for Christmas, but I reckon a few portions of "Smiffy Lurve" might speed things along a little.

Because there is simply so much great gear around and surely, surely some of it will help me play better. So I just have to keep trying and buying until I attain the holy grail of the perfect set. Sadly, it will always be just out of reach.
