Who's got nothing planned for this afternoon except couching it and watching the golf?

HID gone shopping (with my blessing!) as it leaves me at home alone (Kids out already) with sole control of the remote!
Life is good. :D

Wife and eldest son have gone to a party for 3 hours; youngest is watchig Toy Story on DVD whilst I am watching the Open on the bbc website. Have already told her that I am not doing anything until we have a winner!! Hoping it's Casey or Westy!

Kids are at grannies all week, so wife and I have been watching since noon and won't be moving until the end. Going to the flicks tonight to see inception. All in all a good day.

The Boy's playing his DS, HID is upstairs on the PC so I'm in front of the box popping out to tend the dinner once in a while but 5Live's on in the kitchen...

Plus Stella in hand......

Not much of a contest so far which is a shame, quite happy if Ooosty wins but a stroll doesn't make for great viewing. Caseys in the gorse at 12 and looking to go further behind.

I know...grim. Not a good hole to do or die on.

Typical mediocre British golfers fall by the wayside once again.

That's a bit harsh. Casey is 10th in the world. It's just a shame he scored so poorly when he was in contention. He wouldn't have caught Oosterhuizen today any way i.m.o.

Harsh but true, yes?

Maybe, but I suspect the 90 players underneath him in the world rankings might disagree.

What strikes me as mediocre is not the way our UK and Eire players play generally, but the endless disappointment of seeing them fall at final hurdles.
At least Gmac saw it through in America, and Harrington has pulled it off too. Maybe the Irish players have more bottle?

So lets see. Westwood finishes runner up again (and is 3rd in the world). Casey goes out in the last group. McIlroy posts the lowest ever round in an Open. Hardly a crisis in British golf. Oh and in case you'd forgotten a Brit is US Open champ. Not exactly falling away

Ermmmm

3 English and NI players in the top 10 of the Open with Donald just outside, 8 or so in the World's top 20 + a few more in the top 50.

Very mediocre :D :D

And apart from Rory on day 1 there was never anyone else close enough to Oosty to fall away.

Yes they could have challenged more, yes they could have played better, but its not a bad return.

I agree completely with the post above. Outside Louis, the Brits were the dominant ones! And Westwood shot under par ALL WEEK, despite Windy conditions.

I didn't see any of the last round live but Sky+' dthe whole Beeb1 Broadcast and watched 6 hours of Golf in two hours late last night. A good comprimise as we have the out-laws down for the week.
