Who's going to Captain the next Ryder cup in Paris?

Well paid and well fed! Don't believe for one second that he or the players aren't getting something for it, Ching Ching!

Would you care to produce evidence to support your assertion.

It has long been a complaint of some players on both sides that they have no say in how the money generated by the event is distributed. They have not asked to be paid but to be involved in deciding which projects and charities are supported.

Who will and who should is probably quite different...

Who should: Bjorn, Langer

Who will (but shouldn't): old guards favourite; Westwood.

+1 for Bjorn.

Wouldn't like to see any involvement at Paris from Westwood in any shape or form & that goes for Darren also, epic failures and best they stay away.

I'd like to see Westwood find some form & play his way into the team.
Or a Vice captain role.

It's not healthy to be obsessed with someone you know! Let it go, move on.....go to your happy place 👍

Well there is no way he can play his way into it and can you imagine him as a VC telling a player what to do then the guys asks "excuse me but who are you , how many points did you get last time round ? oh and have you not be a Wild card 3 times" best for westy to dsay well away for the next one and maybe come back in some roll in a few years. To they have Waterboys ?

Westwoods Ryder Cup record is up there with what Monty and Seve was before they got the job - despite his poor performance a Hazeltine his record is outstanding in the RyderCup.

Not sure what all this "old guards favourite" business is but Westwood will be a captain at some stage as will players like Poulter - it follows a success model from the Europeans

But so was Faldo's record and we all saw what a balls up he made. Surely it should be the best man for the role at the time, not some "jobs for the boys" to reward past glories

No player would say that or think it about Westwood.
He'll go down as one of the European Ryder cup greats.

Well said that man.

Can't ever see DC taking many future part in the RC, Westwood needs to give it a wide berth for a while after his epic fail at this one. Sometimes you just need to walk away. Plus I can't see anyone pushing to give Lee a role at the next one & he would have some cheek putting himself forward for any sort of role.

Have you watched any of the previous Ryder Cups?

Westwood or Bjorn.

Can't see it being Poulter, he'll feel he's good enough to qualify whilst i cant see it being Langer; he's too busy ripping up the Champions Tour to take time out.

Thats it then the forum has decided, win and you are a great Captain, lose and you are rubbish... Seem to remember Davis Love made all the wrong decisions last time, but now he is the bees.. Same as Leeds owner Mr Cellino, Team lose the manager is sacked thats it nothing to do with the players its all the managers fault.. Just bad luck this time, to many rookies who played well last year but have gone off they will come again but there was no team leader, no catalyst with fire in his belly Rory tried but its not his way, hope we find one for France

That would be like having Stuart Pearce as the England manager.

I think Poulter could work in a kinda Brian Clough way, he would be able to motivate the team you would think.

He'd also be able to talk the talk

However like Clough he'd need a Peter Taylor with him to be the thinking man, if you had a set of methodical/pragmatic thinkers as VC's and gave them a bigger voice in the decision making process it could be a very successful captaincy
