White van man strikes again!!

I'm not defending his actions, but how was he able to undertake you and then get infront?
If you where driving to the Highway Code, you "should" have been keeping left unless over taking.

the road we were on is a longish stretch to a roundabout and you are told early to get into the lane you require as it approaches a busy shopping center and a retail park the inner lane is for the entrance to both of these centers and clearly marked as such.

I have to agree. Nothing winds other drivers up more than someone sitting in an outside lane when the inside one/ones are empty regardless of the speed limits or the speed they are driving at.
That doesn't excuse his actions, just an observance on the story as written.

Bunkermagnet, sorry i do not see how you manage to get this from what i put ? I was keeping up with traffic and as i put earlier in reply to Lump, its the layout that sends you in the o\s lane .

Tashyboy ,
Quite frankly if you have never been undertook when you have been following traffic in the right hand lane or outside lane on a motorway be that three, four or five bloody lanes then you have not passed your cycling proficiency, never mind your driving test.
A point you may of missed was that another person reported this ****.

At this moment in time OP you may well be questioning your reporting of him. Well the next time I see you there's a pint of lager and lime on the bar for you from me.

Thanks for this , a beer man myself

The undercutting goes on all the time with this layout , impatient drivers rush along trying to skip a few places in the que then force across , backing the flow up especially at weekends and evenings.

Your initial post made no mention of lane layout or flow. From what you said at first, it sounded like a scene all too common on multi lane roads and thats someone wishing to follow the limits but insisting on sitting in the outer/outermost lane.
Obviously there is no defence for his actions, I was just trying to look at the whole picture ie both sides or the arguement. Apologies for any confusiion.:)

There's a lovely programme on at the moment, car crash Britain. Just emphasises what i have said. Don't matter if you are in a Lorry, white van, car or bike. Some folk are as thick as pig muck.

Yep too true. I am 46 passed my car test 18 months ago, passed my motorbike test when I was 17. Personally if you could make everyone drive a motorbike and push bike for a year on the roads and then let them drive a car you would see a massive improvement in understanding and care.

Watched the show last night and there's a guy riding around London with a camera on his helmet. It showed a couple of clips of him " involved" with other road users. He filmed one woman sat in a row of traffic eating her breakfast. Cereals in a bowl, with the milk the whole shboodle. Now this maybe a London thing that has not caught on oop north yet. But what is that all about. A full English I could understand but cereals.

After watching car crash Britain, I'm seriously considering getting a dash cam. This is purely to cover my arse in case of an accident.

That would not be a bad investment at all, which one though.

I've not watched the show but seen some clips. Am currently researching the Nextbase ones. Argos and Halfords have the 112 version for £39. Anyone know if I could buy two of them and have one front and back and wired in?

The Nextbase duo cam is £160 which is way more than I want to pay.
