Whisky/Whiskey

Also new to the Whisky game so learning as i go. Currently got a bottle of Jura origin and Jamesons as the open bottles. Also an 18 yo Bunnahabhain for special occasions.

On another note anyone going to the whisky weekend in London in April? Hoping to find a few new ones at that..

I think The Macallan is a good entry to the world of single malt. Have a look for the Sherry Oak casked 10 or 12 year olds. They make really easy drinking Speysides that don't overpower in any particular taste profile and they're very pleasant to drink. The sherry casks make a slightly smoother taste and is generally very well liked by all.

A visit to the Grill Bar on Union St in Aberdeen is a good night out. Over 600 whisky's. They have a menu with a bit of spiel for a lot of them.

Currently got a bottle of Cardhu Gold Reserve on the go. Couple of friends are really into their whisky, so I am dipping my toes in trying to find. what I like. It's definitely not something you can drink quickly, in my eyes, but maybe that improves as you drink more and more!

A small dash of water, bottled not tap helps release the flavour, or one or two ice cubes.

I opened a bottle of 1972 Glenturret for my 17th birthday.......it was rubbish.
I was always told that whisky deteriorates after 30 years........I think they could be right.

O/T.....well done the Staggies.
A team from a town the size of North Berwick have reached the Scottish Cup final.
The bad news is that they have to play one of the Ugly Sisters.
