I'm struggling with a nearly full decanter of Lagavulin distillers edition, bit too peaty for my taste...I might put the kettle on and give it a try with the Tetleys!

Thanks. Bunnahabhain was the one that wasn't on my list as its USP of not being peaty & smoky totally defeats the point of an Islay whisky for me....

It has other qualities that make it enjoyable though - lovely richness from the casks. So one for either side of a meal compared to 'end of evening'.
Not unlike Royal Lochnagar - occasionally criticised for being 'simple' (or 'dull') when really it's just 'perfectly balanced' imo.

Old Pulteney is my favourite. I prefer the 10 year old to the 12 & 15.
