So Vettel and Webber were World Champions last year...........

The team they drive for are the current world champions.

The general public are more interested in the Driver's Championship while, in reality, the Constructor's Championship is much more lucrative in terms of prize money, and money is king.

Like it or not, team orders are a part of motor racing. Always have been, always will be. Even when it was 'illegal'.

And to go against a team order is asking for trouble. Do you deliberately ignore a request from your boss and expect to get away with it?

Not as obviously as this race was supposed to be from the last pit stops.....

What we'll never know is just how much of a lead MW could've pulled out in the early part of the race whilst his car was 'working' better than SV's... He adopted team 'policy' during this period expecting his team mate to do the same when the position was possibly reversed in the later stages...

Team designer, Adrian Newey, looked really uncomfortable post race with the situation... If he chooses to walk away then SV's chances of more World titles will be severly compromised... So I'd say tee him off further at your peril Seb...

I understand the need for team orders but I don't like them. Vettle wanted the win more than Webber and rightly or wrongly used his speed and skill to claim that 1st place. It's tough for Webber as he has let Vettle pass many times before.

You know like Hamililton, Webber had turned his engine down to save fuel as well right?

Type F1 Champions into Google and see what comes first....

If the General public lost interest in F1 there would be no F1 as the sponsors would pull out and there would be no money to build these cars...
If it's the General Public that provides the fuel for the Sponsors to inject the cash into the Sport then surely the General Public is King....

I don't disagree with that.

Hypothetically, what if, in a few races time, Seb's engine lets go while he's in the lead because he overstressed it in maximum power mode yesterday? Would you think team orders are daft then? What if viewers turn off if Seb isn't in the lead, when if he had followed team orders and hadn't blown his engine he'd still be in the race?

No one likes team orders, especially those in racing, they're there because they want to race after all. However with the regulations as they are (8 engines per season, gearbox limitations etc etc...) and comedy tyres that fall apart I'm afraid that you simply must have team orders to use your engines and tyres in a tactical manner.

The fact of the matter here is that Red Bull were seriously worried that the tyres would fall apart on them so had their drivers drive to a delta that was at around 7/10ths of their potential. One driver did that, the other driver ignored it, and got lucky that the tyres held up. Well have to wait until later in the season to see if he ends up running out of engine life.
