Looking to buy some new irons in 2013 spring / summer

Suitable for mid handicapper and cavity back but without huge heads or soles

I have so far got in my wish list

Ping i20
Ping G20 (not sure if they are too chunky )
Mizuno JPX 800 OR 825
TM Rocketbalz

I currenlty play Wilson Staff Di11 and have had Ci9 which i did hit well too

Any suggestions

This purely for the want and not for the need as my Di11 are fine irons

Mizuno 825pro look awesome or i20 would be my preferences out of those you suggested.

i had a go on the i20 in stiff shaft ( i am regular normally ) and i was well impressed

I would get fitted but trying to make up a wish list which will make the selection process easier

The I20's are a fantastic club but like the G20's, they don't half lift the ball into the air. The 825's look great but I haven't hit them so I can't comment. I think Cobra are coming up with some Amp Cell irons which may be worth a look. Also, the Nike Covert irons may be worth a look.

I havnt hit the Miizzies although they do look Great

I have hit the i20s though and they are really impressive, my mate has just bought a set. I had to put them down because I was getting Seriously tempted.
I couldn't believe how much forgiveness was in such a small playable clubhead.

got the same clubs, taking some md superstrongs out on sat for a spin, same reason really there fine just like the look of thre md's,the Di's are only a couple of months old as well,

I'm a big Mizuno fan,at the moment I'm using the mx300s which I love, but I tried some mp53s and they were awesome, have a try with em ,you wont be dissapointed, the pings are too chunky for me..

TM are introducing a Rocketblade tour version with a smaller head in February which may be worth a look. Ping I20's are my current fav's but I will also look at the Cleveland CG16 Tour. Underrated club

Wilson Ci11's are a huge improvement on the Ci9's so if you liked them try the latest model. I tried them against the Cleveland cg16 and couldn't split them, so went for the Nike VR Split cavity forged :)

And the winner is........... JPX825 Pro!

The ping i20's came a so so so close a second. I tried the following:
Ap2's: so wanted these to be the best but I just could not get on with them. I ended up with the s300 in the jpx, which was the same that was in the Ap2's but they were probably the least forgiving I tried. Thy just didn't feel right.
Fg tour v2: lovely looking irons. Very nice at address. I lost a bit of distance with these and the heads were a little larger, but they really looked the dogs!
Amp forged: nice, hit them well, good solid feel, didn't like the orange on the back....
TM R11 and CB: the CB looked a lot better at address. The R11's went and felt a lot better off the club face than the CB's. I really liked these, but Wayne the fitter advised me that these were last years model (not that this should influence my choice if they turned up the best) and they (rumour has it) are being updated soon. Shock!
Ping I20: Loved these!!! Apparently the best selling iron of the year! Very nice at address, lovely feel off the club face, plenty of forgiveness and a great high ball flight.... Why did I not go or these?!?!? My reasoning was based around the shaft options. I ended up with a extra stiff (89 mph swing speed) stock shaft that just didn't feel as right as either the s300 or px 6.0). I could have these shafts in the pings, but the extra cost was expensive. The other reason was the forged feel of the jpx825 pro was better than the cast (all be it softer cast) i20's.

My new lovely jpx 825 pro: these looked STUNNING at address. The s300 shaft felt great and there was still that little bit of help we all need every now and again! The forged feel of the face felt amazing, and the distances matched up with the i20's. I also got 2 mp R-12 wedges (52 & 56).

Tru Fit golf in Warrington (near fiddlers ferry power station) were great. Nothing was too much trouble and Wayne the guy that fitted me was very knowledgeable about every brand I tried. He was also honest about which irons would best suite my game! Made up I went to them!

Very very happy! Long 2/3 weekes wait until delivery!!!!
