I recommend Vice balls. I am playing really well with them. Great to chip and putt with. They cannot be faulted and it is nice to support a disruptor to the market.
Have to think what kind of player you are.
When you have a 20 yard chip, 5 yard to front of green, do you bump and run it or do you loft it to a few feet and stop it second bounce.
I have recently bought some chromesofts and have been loving the responsiveness on the greens, so different to 2 piece balls I have used.
What if I do both - and what particular shot I play depends upon the day, the round and how I feel.
I can honestly say that in all my 45yrs playing this game I have never thought 'oh I like this ball and will continue to play it because...'. Other than ...because I had a good round last time out with it
I have thought 'god - this ball is like hitting a stone - not going to play one of these again'
But beyond that - I will put my hand in my ball pocket and pull one out - my usual criteria for whether or not I play it is what markings or scribbling are on it. I play mostly balls I find - and just about all I find go in my bag. I can't remember last time I bought a golf ball - but I know I have in the last couple of years as I have a sleeve of Titleist Pro V1s or Pro V1xs in a drawer in the back room.![]()
Maybe it is the small details like this that are the difference between a 10 handicap golfer and someone who gets to scratch and below.
