2 Ltr pints of beer
Bulgaria - read some really good things about their courses, particularly Thracian Cliffs.
Same for me also
A quick Google image search for "Austrian Alps Golf" shows the reason why. Absolutely stunning.
2 Ltr pints of beer in the club house and a massive selection of dead pig products for your on course snack is just an added bonus.
In my head the caddies all resemble Fraulein maids to boot.
Would love to play that course, probably wouldn't break 100 off the ladies tee![]()

Ireland would be my first choice, and a tour of the brilliant links courses they have over there. Next would be Bulgaria - read some really good things about their courses, particularly Thracian Cliffs. After that, Turkey.
Reading through this thread I wonder why folk don't go ahead and make the wish reality?
Places like Poland,Sweden,Bulgaria,Holland etc are easily accessible.
For me I wouldn't mind a bit of mountain scenery so up in the Swiss, Bavarian or Austrian Alps would be cracking in the height of Summer or another trip back to the Czech Republic as they have some stunning courses and the beer isn't too bad either!
Mate has played in Slovakia and raves about it......there are loads and loads of places that are easily doable within a 3 hour flight.
If you just get 1 go a year (or longer) at a golf break - it's brave to take a chance on places that aren't tried and tested. You know what you're getting by hopping down to Marbs or Albufeira.
That will change as the braver ones blaze the trail - similar to Turkey which was a slow burner at first.
True and the Czech Republic puts the Iberian places to shame both in quality and value for money. Personally I would rather try than continue to go to these places.
Back home to Scotland for me - up the west coast, island hopping, then make my way down the easy coast Tain, Brora, Golspie, Castle Stuart, Nairn, Cruden Bay etc etc all the way through Fife, East Lothian
That's assuming it's weather guaranteed and a bottomless pit of cash!
