Not consistant enough with everything. If I was a scratch golfer I'd be 10 but as I'm not I can't rate myself too highly.

Driving 6 - after a bit of a Eureka moment on the range the other day.
Irons 7 - normally pretty solid
Short Game 5 - currently suffering a bit
Putting 7 - putting well at the moment and sinking plenty of birdies

Looking at the replies so far I think you need to decide what you're comparing to.

Is 10 a touring pro, scratch golfer, as good as you think you can be, as good as you'd like to be, etc?

I think you can put Screwbacks (Scr?) reply in the filing cabinet with Murphs

I think a lot of the lower hc's are underscoring (or more realistic?) and the higher hc's happier with their games, hence the need to stipulate what a 10 is?

I just compared mine to where i think my game could end up. Dont think ill ever be a single figure handicapper. Might sound pessimistic to some but its not a target that i have,i dont want to play perfect golf i just want to play well enough to enjoy it.

If i was comparing my game to your average 20+ handicapper my short game and putting would be a mark or 2 higher. My putting in particular is my saviour,being able to 2 putt from virtually anywhere on the green is probably holding me back in improving my approach shots.
