Where to sell a timeshare?

I have a timeshare in Fife I'd like to sell as we can't use the week now due to school holidays.
Anyone know of any companies that buy them?

As Region says, be very very careful, there are lots of scams out there.

Does the resort where you own have a members website where you can advertise to rent or sell?

I sold mine last year in Gran Canaria and fortunately was able to take advantage of the members website. I actually sold it to a Norwegian guy, if you're fortunate to get the interest from them then you're on to a winner. They are well known for buying and offer good money, and I got exactly what I was asking for with no hassle.

Just had another thought Darth. Are you affiliated to RCI? Because you may be able to buy into RCI Points and that way you can use them to go elswhere at any time, provided of course there is availability.

For instance, one year I was looking to go to Cameron House at Loch Lomond! But the only time I could get was in January. Which was ok'ish for me to play golf, but would of been not so good for the wife, weather wise.

Thanks Guys, thats good advice. I'd used RCI in the past but found you had to keep calling everynight to get something, used dialanexchange as well but lets face it the good ones and good weeks are snapped up or never come on the market.
I put last years week into dialanexchange and it was snapped up the same day (within the hour they said) as its a Luxury villa sleeps 8 all en-suite tv's in everyroom sauna etc etc and only a few miles from St Andrews.
We cant use it now as its outside the school weeks otherwise I'd be there forever.

I don't know if you're familiar with RCI Points but my advice would be to seriously consider looking into them. With the quality villa you obviously have your points value will be quite high. Meaning that you could for instance, have 2 or even 3 weeks, when kids are no longer in tow, in America in a 1 or 2 bed apartment.

What happened at my resort was that we could sometimes add on another week, if we had enough points left. It can be a bit confusing, but once you get into it you have much more flexibility.

Sorry, can't do links - so just google, rcipoints and all the info is there. Of course, it does cost to join, and it's not cheap. But IMHO worth it in the long run, especially if you have a high value ownership.

One year the wife and I had a 1 week holiday in a nearby resort - 2 bed apartment, and then the next week our daughter, son in law and 2 grandchildren joined us the following week in our home apartment.

It's so flexible!
