When you are playing a par 5

Never mind did you enjoy the day?

It was a good day inasmuch as the company was great and we had a bit of banter on the course.
The golf? Crap. One "good" hole followed by one bad hole (two sometimes) was the order of the day.
Putting was a nightmare with the ball moving around as you were addressing it, and just as the wind dropped and you were about to play it, another gust would come and try to knock you off your feet. Putting was all a bit "hurried" as you just wanted to take a jab at the bloody thing before another gust came.
Trying to keep your balance and put a smooth swing on anything was almost impossible and I was pulling quite a few drives as any tempo I may have had deserted me.

Not a nice day to be on any course, let alone a links as exposed at Princes.

I see you dragged him down to your level then Smiffy. Must have been pretty brutal or a pretty long hole not to get home with three smacks with a wood. I can understand just wanting to hit it when you got to the green though. Still better to have played in such company than taking a day off work to watch the RC and sitting around for hours with nothing better to do instead

It was 570yd par 5 into a solid 40mph+ headwind. He then chipped to 6ft and made the putt for par - not bad.

Remember on the front 9 when he left a putt really (really) short and I said to him "Robert, you've dropped your lipstick"
He liked that
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D
