Evening Gents & Ladies,

Im wondering when is it time to get a decent set of clubs? I currently play with a Wilson set like this http://www.golfonline.co.uk/wilson-...kage-inch-long-steelgraphite-2011-p-4819.html and have had them and been playing for a year. I have had lessons and am now hitting ball straight and sweetly. Just so everyone is aware im not trying to run before i can walk but would be really helpful if people have recommendations of time, upgrades that are inbetween the type i have now and top of the range hard to hit style etc.

At the moment they are working great for me so will certainley be sticking for the minute although my mate pulled out a shiny new nike driver and asked if i wanted to have a go with it... Result was a further 30 yrds and going up the bank! He kept on about that being the difference with decent clubs but im not sure if it was all in my head when i was holding this nice new club.

its up to you, ive had my mizuno mx200 for three seasons reckon it could be another couple before i change them. my woods ive just changed after 3 seasons. and i have a collection of wedges 45 50 (on order) 52 52 54 58:fore:

Nothing wrong with changing gear, some do it more than others as its all part of the fun

You could look at a new set of Wilson Staff Di11 which would cost you approx £280

or pick up a second set of decent Wilson Staff di7, di9 clubs as they are great clubs and low price too

Do not waste money on a new driver, however if you wish to upgrade find a decent second hand driver and try that, if you do not get on with it sell it on ebay

Good drivers to look for at low cost but great in their day

With regards to time you could wait but if you say you are hitting the ball well i would upgrade and you may find your distance improving.
