When did you last play alone?

Not since last summer. Once the weather improves and it is lighter then I tend to head to the course straight from work to play 9 holes just to get out in the fresh air.

Not always my most productive golf as I find that I tend to rush, not line up putts properly etc but it keeps the swing ticking over until the weekend.

I've gone to go out on my own a couple of times in the afternoon knowing it will be quiet only for people to come up to me on the 1st tee or join me once out on the course, just when your dropping that extra ball and trying a few things, someone walks across a fairway to join you, its rude to say bugger off so you just end up playing out the rest of the course together.

I like a bit of me time sometimes on the course rather than going to the range.

Hehe, ye I get this, I do tend to be rude (but polite) though. If I want to be on my own I will not be good company so excuse myself. I do not get an awful lot of free time and even less "me time".

Yesterday..

Often play twice or more solo each week.
The clubs are in the car, if I get a 4 hour window in the day - easy when you control your diary - I can be out within 20 minutes. Its only usy until 10/10.30, after that I can just turn up and go.
And if I only have time for 9 or 13(13 finishes close to the club house) then its no problem.
I try shots, sometimes hitting 3 or 4 balls for each shot - only scoring the first ball though!

Give us a shout if you ever just want a game during the week

In summer we have "playable light" late in the evening... so on weekdays, one can go out around 7 or 8 o´clock and play 18 holes. So when wife cant go with me for an evening round and then i take my 5 min walk to the course and if there is no one on first tee... I Tee off alone and play 9 to 18 holes... There are often not so many playing on weekdays evenings here and i have only 5 min walk to the course...so the choice/decision between gardening and an evening round isnt so difficult to make  :swing:

A while back I was asked by my pro about the last time I played a round, just for the fun of it, where nothing was at stake, not a comp or handicap at risk? I couldn't remember. He told me to go out that weekend on my own and just play for fun. If anyone invited me to join them I was to politely decline. Just go and play for fun. He thought I was putting too much pressure on myself and my game was suffering as a result.
I took his advice. I ambled round behind a two ball, not disturbing them. It was a lovely day. I thought about nothing but enjoying my game and the weather. Got back in, counted up my score. Nett 66, 5 under my handicap. I was amazed.
Every now and then, it's really nice to play on your own. I find it quite therapeutic.

Last time I played alone was mid summer, used to take advantage of a quiet course later at night during the summer and nip out for a few holes. Lovely playing at that time of night on a nice summer's evening, although the last one May have been two years ago.

Last time I played on my own was at Hillside in December.

Doesn't bother me TBH.

Furthest I've travelled to play on my own was Portmadog which is a couple of hours away.

So my solo round went well... It didn't rain which is a good start and I managed to shoot a +12 84 with my first ball and a +9 81 with my "better ball". Let's hope I shoot that we'll tomorrow morning!

I played alone today, even though I was in a 4-ball

I've never struggled off the tee so much in 1 round since first picking up a club:angry:

Scrambled more than the 633 Squadron at times, just played to handicap but it felt like 10 rounds with Mike Tyson rather 18 holes round KGC

Forecast was rain here and I was stuck inside doing my accounts this morning - rain didn't come so took a break at about 2pm and went out to play a few holes on my own - for the first time in ages someone asked to join me on the first tee and we played seven holes together before he went in - I played another five holes on my own - lovely day, change to swing working quite well for its first outing - slice with the driver gone - but replaced with the occasional hook (3 in twelve holes, next fairway stuff - got away with them all).

Was interested in whether I'd play better or worse with a playing partner but it was about the same - six under fives for 12 holes is Ok for me.

As I work shifts mates can't always get same day off so play solo a couple of times a week . I've now got into a routine where I don't want to get thro any 3 or 4 balls in front and use the extra time on greens throwing ball Back down and have an extra few putts

I've played twice this week on my own.really enjoy it as I can work on my game. Alignment is my problem at the moment so at least I can place a club on the ground to help with alignment. When I play with mates it's always for money and competitive so golf on my own is a welcome break. Normally play mornings in winter and late in the summer months. Played Friday and due to rain I was the only one on the course.
