When did you last play 36 holes in a day?

I played at Stoke Rochford last year, singles in the morning and foursomes in the afternoon, so not 36, but a good walk. Going to try again this year, also playing a 36 two days before, at Elsham. My brain goes into hibernate at about the 14th, and the body loosens up around the fifth so I should be ok for 16 holes. :D :D

many a time...most memorable/enjoyable would have to be 3 year ago playing Druids Glen in the morning followed by a dash up the road to play The Island in the afternoon and then flew back to Edinburgh at night....superb days golf.

Least memorable would be playing Emporda Forest and Dunes near Girona Norhtern Spain in one day on a lads tour after a muckle session the night before and some of us not hitting the pillow til 5am and meeting downstairs in reception for a 7am leave......there were some casualties that evening after we all limped up the 36th hole!

There was a certain poster on here told that it wasnt a good idea for 12 heavily seshed men to play 36 holes but he wasnt having any of it.....needless to say we have never done 36 holes in a day on tour since! :p

Used to play 36 quite regularly on a Sunday when HID was working and before we had the Boy. Start about 8am, get in for lunch about 12. Out again at 1 and home by 5.

Once my knees and ankles started to wear out I havn't tried it. I reckon 27 would be hard work now.

On our annual trip to Scotland every year. Travel Saturday. Play 18 on Sunday then 36 every day, Monday through Friday, and travel back on Saturday again. Never worked out why we only do 18 on the Sunday?

In answer to the OP....

Today, I set off at 9am this morning and played the first 4 holes alone, there was a society of 27 in front of me though (nice of the pro to let me know  ) and none of them would let me through so I joined up with a 3 ball behind me.

Had a good laugh, finished on the 18th and decided as I had no kids to pick up til 4pm that i'd go round again, so I did.

Straight off the 18th green onto the 1st tee.....never again, i'm absolutely goosed!! Feel like I need 2 hip replacements, a pair of new feet, a new back and 36 hrs sleep to put myself right

I played 2 rounds last tuesday. Portlethen Golf course, it has a few hills but not bad at a length of 6443 yards.

I normally go away for a weekend with the lads where we play 2 rounds on the saturday and then 1 round on the sunday.

Last year I took part in the MacMillan Longest Day Challenge, 4 rounds in a day. Played all 4 rounds at Alford GC. Signed up again this year but going to play 4 different courses, Newmachar Hawkshill & Swailend, Oldmeldrum and Meldrum House.

Last year I played two matches on the same day, One on The Burnside at 2pm then straight on to The Championship at 6pm. Started to wilt a bit near the end, but on the whole felt not too bad.

first and last of the society season are 27 due to light, the rest are 36.

played the first 36 last month - knackered for the last four holes, which just goes to prove how much you lose over winter (though I was also just recovering from a huge reaction to some pain killers the doc had prescribed - thought I was having a heart attack)

next 36 is next week and if the weather ever improves I play 36 regularly at my club.
