I have been playing Since june 08(and am addicted now)and think i have been making steady progess. When i started I was in the low 100 sometimes high 90's. This year i am in the low 90,s and sometimes rarley high 80's. I still have a fair few disaters but i think these are my averages round the course I would like know peoples progress on this site.

Year 1 105-97
Year 2 97-87

These are my rough estimates

Fair to poor did shoot a stableford 41 and 43 over the weekend and that was with blobs.

My season hasnt taken off the way I thought but it is my first competitive season so maybe next year.

I'm with you there Murph......my handicap's been going the wrong way all year. Looking to get some lessons in the Autumn, work hard, then have a good season next year.

had a good couple of months, two society trophies, still in the doubles and singles (semis this and next week) and my first National cut.

wheels came off a bit on the last medal so that bit of pressure is gone. just got to get it all together again before the doubles on Friday (Mid Herts - another new track)

Started April 08 hcp 28
Current hcp = 15.4.
Lowest score to date = 82 gross (strangely I shot this when I was playing off 22! Closest I got since is 84).

Similar to you Lynchy.

This is only my second year, but my first full one. Started off at 25 and am down to 23 but i've only played 3 or 4 tournaments at our club to get cut.

This time last year i was scoring mid to high 90s. I'm now scoring mid 80s quite regularly and have been lower once or twice as well.

Just need to get in more comps to get my HC down to where i think it should be.

started this year at 27, now down to 20.3 however in knock ups with my mates i'm playing to anything from 12-18, i just cant seem to get the same consistency in a medal.

Roll on the Club Championship next weekend.

Been good so far this year and hope for much more...

Started at 17 and worked my way down to 11.8. So have to be pleased with that. Single figures was always a target for end of 2010.....but lets see what can be done this year ;-)

I've come down 1.1 this year, which I should be happy with. But, my target for the year is to achieve 7 or below by seasons end.
I've played some golf good enough to be well below this, but, often either start too poorly or finish poorly and turn potentially good rounds into ok ones.

Like last weekend - finished 7 over despite two double bogeys and alot of very mediocre play.

been playing for just under a month now, my current year 1 is similar to yours lynchy.

... Year 1 - 105-98

beat 100 for the first time last week which fealt great :)

now aiming to beat 95.

Very happy with my progress this year after starting on 10.0, been floating between 10 and 11 for about 3 years, I have really knuckled down and got my handicap down to 6.8, and still improving :D

Began at 11 at my old club and actually came down to 9.9 but then went back up to 10.0
Not been able to play any comps at my new club yet - dates don't match in with life! But I'm still searching for the consistency that I know I can produce. I can shoot anything from 73 to 95 at the moment and it all depends on which Imurg turns up. I'd like to get to 9.4 or below before the end of the season and I know I can do it, its just a question of when.
I feel next year, having got used to a new course and playing more often, the handicap is going to get some serious bashing!!

Currently on a roll. Regardless of the old adage "it's not how, but how many", I'm far more tidy than even 2 months ago and expect a strong end to the season. Not been over 80 in ages (other than on an unknown links) and expect to carry the form into the white tee comps that resume quite soon.
Been living in buffers-ville, Tennessee for 18 months.
Managed 40 points on Sunday in a non-q....won't ring any bells with our secretary I tell you. :(

I only get to play now and again as I work overseas. When I get back the first couple of games are in high 90s, then as the weeks go on I get better with practice and by week 4 its as good as it gets. Then its away again for 4 months and so the process goes on. One day, with some consitency I may get into the low 80s, thats my goal for now.

Been a good season so far. Started with Hcap of 19.4 now down to 13.3---season target was 15.
Naturally playing well also means prizes won.

Plodding along merrily off of 12. Not too unhappy with that as my last "official" handicap was held 9 years ago. Playing to it quite regularly so hopefully with a few more competitive rounds under my belt will lose a shot or two. My aim was to get down to 9 by year end but I haven't been playing enough at my home club to manage that.
