Knole Park G C at Westerham have thousands of free range deer, all doing what deer do best. Play the ball as it lies - no free drops. Can make for some interesting "splash" shots.

I played a course in Sarasota, Florida a few years back. On the card it stated that George, the resident gator of indeterminate age usually to be found on or near the 14th, always had right of way. Wouldn't argue with that one.

My favourite rule is this.

Local rule 22b)

"any player distracted by the noise of a tractor whilst playing his/her shot, may (as a choice, not a requirement) re-play the shot from as close as possible to the place (not nearer the pin) where the last ball was played from"

Given we are surrounded by farms, any bad shot can be replayed if you have good ears!!!!

If you duffed it a few yards due to a bomb going off in the vicinity, you could declare your ball unplayable and replay the original shot with a one stroke penalty anyway, I would have thought. Or am I as mad as a mongoose?
Can't comment on your mental state, but I wondered this. But in the end I took it to mean that you could replay the shot for a stroke. Eg bomb goes off as you play your 2nd, so you replace the ball and play next shot as 3rd - in most cases under normal rules if you did that you'd be playing 4 (wouldn't you?). But I might be wrong.
