Mine is simply my alignment.

Even if I concentrate on getting my feet and hips square, I'll still find I'm either pulling it left, or slicing it.

Today I had it pointed out for the umpteenth time that my shoulders were still open at address, even though my lower body was lined up fine.

And I was swinging along the line of my shoulders.

I've had this pointed out numerous times over the last year or so, and no matter how much time and effort I put into checking my allignment, I still subconciously creep back into the bad old habits time, and time, and time again.

What fault do you have that, no matter how many times you try to get rid of it, it keeps on coming back to haunt you?

My shoulders always point right. I have to tweak them left before I play. It's become part of my pre-shot routine now.

Being too fat to play the game properly these days. I need to get into better shape but at my age I cannot get my head into gear for longer than a couple of weeks.

Due to old injuries and being out of shape and getting older, my backswing wants to get shorter and shorter. This leads to me trying to inject some power by throwing the club over the top back to the ball.

Becomes more pronounced the longer the club gets. Hence my driving is pitiful. :( :( :(

Apparently my leg action is verging on making me more like a contender on strictly come dancing than a golfer. Might explian my consistency which is shocking and I can shoot 72 or 92 and feel like the swing is the same on both days !

I usually set up for a little fade off the tee but occasionally I hold onto it and pull it miles left. Does my head in tbh as I always manage to get it into the clag/trees/bondu etc etc

Full round/Every shot concentration is my downfall.

Sometimes feel as though I rush into shots and dont set myself correctly over the shot. On occasion I even feel as though I cant remember playing the shot after the ball has landed.

When I hit the ball well, my short game is crap, when i knob it around , my short game is actually pretty decent. . . . . one day ....

Nice to see that even our good players have faults that leave them with ' pitiful driving ' or that they ' always manage to get it into the clag '

I'm pretty sure that I'd swap your faults for mine every day of the week.

;)

But that's what makes this game so impossible.

The better you get the smaller the margins become. At the moment I'm happy slashing it around like a phycho on speed, but give me even a hint of consistancy and I'll find another 3 faults which need looking at.

:(

Our faults are what make us unique - but I guess that's not much of a comfort if it ruins an otherwise good round. The problem with our faults are they've become a habit and we'll do them all the same even though we know we shouldn't.

What's my fault?

How long have you got? :D

Main one at the moment is tempo, my backswing is too slow, I'm told it's technically pretty good but my backswing needs speeding up a bit.

main problem for me currently is 30-80 yds in. Not happy with my wedges (they feel a bit light but prob just a bad workman blaming the tools!), swing has got a bit long and loose but mainly the problems are mental. a brain fix, some new wedges and many hours practise required (though finding decent short game practise facilities a nightmare)

My problem is just consistency and mental strength. I tend to switch off due to lack of enthusiasm with various things on the course. Probably why I'm looking around at other courses at the moment.

My main fault is I took up the game after I turned 33 so was already too fat and unfit to fit in with the good players but I'm told it's that I beat myself up too much when I duff a shot that's why I've been tagged a grumpy old sh*t

The two that probably do most damage is a cut off follow through. I find sometimes I decelerate the club into the ball which causes a slice.

The other is sometimes my tempo goes and I get a bit quick and my hands and arms take over my swing. Either end up pulling or slicing.

I find if i'm conscious of those two things when I'm playing and just think easy swing and follow through things seem to work out ok most of the time.

Commitment to the shot! I'm OK with driving but when the pressure's on, my approach play, chipping and putting can misbehave if I don't conciously tell myself to 'commit to the shot'.
